Tech Tip Part Description: 2011 WK/WD Heated Seats

Tech Tip Description: Three potential customer complaints regarding 2011 WK/WD heated seats are covered below:

1) On 2011 WK vehicles built prior to 7/20/10 ... If a customer complaint is for a lack of heating performance experienced with the vehicle`s heated seats, follow service procedure for a flash update of the Heated Seat Module (CSWM) to the most recently released change level.

2) On 2011 WK vehicles built after 7/19/10, equipped with base leather (sales code: *UL) heated seats ... If a customer complaint is for driver/passenger heated seat turning off too quickly, after only a few minutes of operation, replace the heat element in the front seat back with P/N 68138265AB. Note that one or both of the following diagnostic codes may also register for this condition and should be cleared; B1E99-1E (driver seat) and B1E9A-1E (passenger seat).

3) On 2011 WK/WD vehicles built before 6/13/11, equipped with rear heated seats If a customer complaint is for a rear heated seat turning off too quickly, after only a few minutes of operation, replace the heat element in the rear seat back with one of the following part numbers, as follows:

WK - All seat trim sales code -Use P/N 04610226AE

WD - CL seat trim sales code - Use P/N 04610226AE

WD - AL seat trim sales code - Use P/N 68058436AE

WD - TL seat trim sales code - Use P/N 68058615AE

Note that one or both of the following diagnostic codes may also register for this condition and should be cleared; B1E9B-1E and B1E9C-1E.
