What is e-Fiche? e-Fiche, or electronic microfiche, is a simple 'page-turner' service parts catalog delivered on DVD, that replaces all CPJD paper and microfiche service parts catalogs. It is comprised of 4 CDs: 2 Archive CD's, covering 1996 and prior vehicles (1981 Jeep, 1982 Truck, Pass Car & Imports) 2 Current CD's, covering 1997 and forward vehicles Please have all Canadian Dealers call DDS Canada (directly) @ 1-800-387-1143 What features does it have? Simple navigation by year, family, model, specific catalog information Search by part number or text, forward or backward Image zoom Print a page or an entire book What are the benefits to me at my Parts Counter? Improved data quality, due to more frequent updates Easy to use Faster parts specifying Less storage required Annual subscription fee savings Details of these benefits are described in several of the following questions. How often will I get an update? Updates will be sent out monthly. You will receive either 1 or both of the Current CD's. The number of CDs you receive depends upon which catalogs were updated that month. The 2 Archive CD's will not be updated during the year. These are updated yearly, if necessary. How much does e-Fiche cost? The Annual Subscription Fee is $1,000. This is a one-time charge that is applied to your dealer statement in October, or if you signed up after the enrollment period, you will see the charge on your next invoice. What kind of equipment do I need to have for e-Fiche? Minimum requirements are a PC with a CD drive and at least 1.5 GB of available disk storage to enable down loading to your hard drive. However, if you need to purchase a PC, please ensure it meets Customer Connect's minimum standards. This PC can be used for any Customer Connect application in your dealership, and it positions you to be ready for other DaimlerChrysler products such as StarParts, Web DIAL, etc. What does an e-Fiche subscription cover? Once you subscribe, you will receive 4 CDs, in a complimentary e-Fiche zippered CD case. The 4 CDs fall into 2 categories: Archive (CD1 & CD2) & Current (CD3 & CD4) . The 2 Archive CDs cover 1981 Jeep, 1982 (Pass Car, Truck & Import) through 1996 MY. The 2 Current CDs cover all 1997 MY vehicles through 2004 MY. Your Dealership will also be added to our monthly update distribution list. Every month you will receive the CDs that contain the catalogs which have been updated that month. How do I order e-Fiche? Please complete the e-Fiche Order form and fax to (586) 497-0667 Attn: Carol O'Neal Do I need to order more than one set? Usually not. One set can be loaded onto multiple PCs. The only time you may need to order multiple copies is when you have to keep a set of CDs on hand at different (physical) locations. Is e-Fiche a replacement for a full Electronic Parts Catalog (EPC)? No. e-Fiche is a replacement for hard copy and microfiche only. Although better than either hard copy or microfiche catalogs, it does not have the full functionality offered by an EPC. What type of training/instructions will I receive? A Computer Based Training module is on every CD, and written instructions will be distributed on how to install. Have any dealers used e-Fiche yet? There were over 1300 Dealers using e-Fiche last year. When I begin using StarParts, should I discontinue my e-Fiche subscription? This is an individual preference. However, several StarParts dealers have indicated an interest in having an e-Fiche subscription to use, should their Internet connection become unavailable. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
